In 1984 she inaugurated her studio in via Longon 4 in Bolzano, Italy, with a personal exhibition of encaustic paintings and spatulate fresco earths presenting large compositional cycles of parietal dimension on panels. She created four works for the Tisot collection. She works for the larger public preferring the weight of colour over perspective.

In 1986 she created stained glass windows for the private chapel of the Negroni family in Zibello and a 4x2m large encaustic painting at their residence in Gargnano.

In 1986 she was selected by Piero Siena for the Panorama and Panorama exhibition with her work “Via Rubbia”.

In 1986 in Gorizia she won the first figurative prize at the regional exhibition “Città di Gorizia” (City of Gorizia).

In 1987 in Merano she took part in the provincial art review.

In 1987 she created an encaustic painting with fresco earths for the Bertolini family collection in Bologna.

In 1988 she opened her own studio at Villa Clara in Via Fago with a personal exhibition.

In 1988 at the Padua exhibition fair her participation in the TRIVENETO DESIGN was rewarded for her installation “Goethestrasse” (Goethe street).

In 1989 she created a 164x234cm encaustic painting with fresco earths called “Bolzano su lastra spaziale” (Bolzano on a spatial plate) as after a nuclear tragedy for café Lintner in Bolzano.

In 1989 the councillor Gebert Deeg purchased “Fertilità su cavallo meccanico” (Fertility on a mechanical horse), an encaustic painting with fresco earths, for the Palazzo del Consiglio della Provincia Autonoma di Bolzano. Its location is currently unknown.

In 1990, for the restaurant hall of Castel Mareccio, she completed four large lunettes with spatulate encaustic technique with fresco earths that portray, on request of the Bolzano Tourist Board, the characters who favoured the restoration of the castle in the legend of Klara. Helmuth Stampfer, at the time Superintendent of Fine Arts of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, supervised her work.
At the same time, on the first floor, among other things she exhibited the figurehead women carrying ships on their shoulders, a metaphor for women’s toil. Presentation and catalogue with critique by Luigi Serravalli, Traudi Messini and Tilly Meazzi.

In 1990 she made a 211x318cm encaustic painting with fresco earths for the 4M company in Bolzano called “L’inventore va al lavoro” (The inventor goes to work).

In 1990 she won first prize in the “Metaphysics” section in Castello di San Giusto, Trieste.

In 1990 encaustic with fresco earths “Polena occidentale” (Western figurehead), 249x149cm, selected in Milan for the congress: Clinical pathologists with postmark on the days 29th, 30th of May and 1st of June 1990.

In the 1990s she painted in encaustic with fresco earths “Il tetto di ardesia” (The slate roof), 155x310cm, for the Bonvicini Clinic in Bolzano.

Other works carried out up to 1999 are in public buildings, churches and private residences in Italy and abroad. Her art is engaged and addresses themes of nuclear power, ecology, wars and women’s issues.

Since the year 2000 she has been working with tissue papers hardened with resins, mosquito nets and other transparent materials. This is how the ephemeral “Anti Wunderkammer” or “Armadi dei Pensieri” (Wardrobes of Thoughts) were born.

In 2002 she created the installation “Aria” (Air) made with tissue paper hardened with resins, painted with graphite and hung like clothes in a room of Castel Welsperg in Monguelfo.

In 2003 at Sconfinart Expo d’Arte Contemporanea she exhibited her installation “Tenda di Guerra” (War tent) representing the three monotheistic religions with ninety meters of tissue paper hardened with resins and painted with the symbols of the different religions.

In 2003 at the Trevi Cultural Center in Bolzano for the exhibition “La bestia” (The beast), she created the installation “Palinsesti” (Show schedules) with hardened tissue paper and a wooden skeleton; dancers as well as women wearing burquas and camouflage overalls appear in sequence and in the centre is a tissue curtain with a remote control hanging.

In 2003 personal exhibition “Concerti interiori” (Inner concerts) at the Capucine gallery in Luxembourg presented by Bertrand Kass.

In 2004 she inaugurated her studio in Via dei Combattenti where she still works and presents her “Feminae” project.
More painted tissue, but also lace, nylon stockings, tulle inserted between painted plexiglass sheets to convey the strength of women with transparent and delicate materials, the ability to concentrate, to quickly diversify thought and attention, the effort of two jobs, the trauma of violence and the unknown that awaits brides.

In 2004 the Antonio Battaglia Brera gallery in Milan presented her personal exhibition “Ritus”: strong women celebrating a modern ritual, women golf players in stately poses. where every gesture must be perfectly calibrated. Critique in Flash Art edited by Pedro Fiore.

In 2005 her personal exhibition “Ritus” was also presented at the Innsbruck Bertrand Kass gallery.

In 2005 her Feminae project was shown at the Bertrand Kass gallery personal stand at the Bolzano Arte international fair.

In 2006 the Feminae project was shown at the Bertrand Kass personal stand at Innsbruck Kunstart.

In 2007, among these works on plexiglass one was selected for the creation of a national stamp to celebrate the European year of equal opportunities for all, alongside a major exhibition in Rome organised by the Ministry in the presence of the Italian President Giorgio Napolitano, the Ministers and the European representative.
On this occasion, the Italian Department of Culture in Bolzano dedicated her a personal exhibition at the Trevi Center curated by prof. Giorgio Cortenova, who at the time was the director of the Palazzo Forti Museum of Contemporary Art in Verona.

While continuing research on her “Feminae” project, 2008 was the year in which she began the “Mandala for Lhasa” project for solidarity with the Tibetan people. They are meander-shaped microcosms made by wrapping old family fabrics around a soft core and fixing them with copper wire. This requires a concentration that voids the mind from the shapes and leads to think only of colours.

In 2009 the Mandalas were exhibited in the Atelier Home of the Museion in Bolzano curated by Letizia Ragaglia and Eva Fabris.
Mandalas are memories that have changed in meaning over time such as the “Vortex” digitally processed and transferred onto plexiglass by means of UVA rays and inkjet.

In 2009 the “Vortex” inserted in hanging net cones were exhibited in the Civic Gallery of Bolzano for the Moduli 2 exhibition curated by Gabriella Boulanger.

In 2009 she participated in “Aspettando Manifesta 7” (Waiting for Manifesta 7), a parallel event traveling exhibition presented on the outside of buses around the city.

In 2010 personal Feminae 010 exhibition at the Association of Artists Gallery in piazza Domenicani in Bolzano.

In 2011 Module selection 4 at the Galleria Civica in Bolzano.

In 2013 personal exhibition at the Centro Trevi within the project “Nel cerchio dell’arte” (In the circle of art) curated by Paola Bassetti Carlini.

In 2014 “Feminae x 0.314-spose” (Feminae x 0.312-Brides) personal exhibition at the Association of Artists in Bolzano.

In 2014 she created works where she transformed heavy thoughts into castles in the sky selected by Paolo Zammatteo for the exhibition “To build castles in the sky” at the Galleria Civica and at Schloss Runkelstein, organised by the FIDA of Trento and Bolzano.

In 2014 at Palazzo Falier in Venice prof. Vittorio Sgarbi selected her for the exhibition “Spoleto incontra Venezia” (Spoleto meets Venice”).

In 2015 she was selected by prof. Vittorio Sgarbi for the “Spoleto Arte” exhibition for the Festival dei due mondi in Spoleto.

She took part in international exhibitions in Miami, London and New York.

In 2016 the Mandalas break down to become a metaphor in the exhibition “Sogni senza sbarco” (Dreams without landing) about women who die at sea and the metamorphosis accomplished by nature which relentlessly continues its course.

In 2016 personal exhibition “Beyond the Border” at Umberto Russo’s “L’angolo” gallery.

In 2017 she was selected for the Rome Triennale at the Vittoriano curated by Achille Bonito Oliva and Daniele Radini Tedeschi with a jointed aluminium sculpture “C’era una volta il gatto” (Once upon a time there was a cat).

In 2017 she exhibited at “Miami meets Milano” in conjunction with Art Basel Miami.

In 2018 she participated in the exhibition “Festival del nuovo Rinascimento” (Festival of the new Renaissance) at Palazzo delle Albere in Trento with “Sogni senza sbarco” (Dreams without landing).

In 2018 selection “Metamorfosi Creative” (Creative Metamorphosis) at the Maschio Angioino in Naples, curated by Maurizio Vitiello.

In 2019 she was selected by prof. Vittorio Sgarbi for the “Pro Biennale” exhibition in Palazzo Grifalconi  Loredan in Venice, where she received the “Canaletto” award for her tribute to Karl Plattner titled ”Ragazza con gli stivali bianchi” (Girl with white boots) included in the biographical book on the artist Karl Plattner edited by Fulvio Vicentini.
The same work was presented in Pietro Marangoni’s “La stanza” gallery for the commemoration of Karl Plattner.

In 2019 personal exhibition “Ayahuasca” at the Artists’ Association Gallery of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano curated by Paola Bassetti Carlini: a journey in the Peruvian Amazon forest pushed Giovanna Da Por to express herself with strong immersive colours typical of that nature which is so engaging, preponderant but at the same time fragile.

In 2019 in Trento “Kosmos, Kairos, Antropos” at the Palazzo Thun Torre Mirana gallery VI Biennial Fida Trento-Bolzano curated by Barbara Cappello

In 2020 during the total lockdown she participated in some selection exhibitions where she presented her “Avatars“. These are alter egos that forcefully emerge from the antiwunderkammer wardrobes, outdoors, in nature, when during the lockdown Giovanna would look at her mountains and could only climb them with her imagination.

In 2020 collective exhibition with the Bolzano Artists’ Association at Torre Mirana in Trento.

In 2020 “Il mare dentro” (The sea inside) collective exhibition at the gallery Artists’ Association of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano in which she was present with “Sogni senza sbarco” (Dreams without landing).

In 2021 she was present with “Avatar 3” at the the DueunoDue gallery in Bologna during the Nartwork “Dynamic correspondence” exhibition curated by Rossella Bellan, Giulia Mazzilli and Antonietta Panico. Critique by Cristina Cordova and Gianpasquale Greco.

In 2021 Milan Nartwork Luciana Matalon foundation “Inside” with “Armadio dei sogni 1” (Closet of dreams 1).

In 2021 in Naples Nartwork Maschio Angioino selection “Vibes” with “Armadio dei sogni 2” (Closet of dreams 2).

In 2021 she took part in Here to stay at Museion, Bolzano.

In 2022 collective exhibition “Revival” with the Artists’ Association of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano.

On the 29th of November 2022 personal exhibition at the headquarters of the Artists’ Association of the Province of Bolzano “Avatar in Outside Exhibition and More”. Presentation and critique by Mario Cossali.
Now her Avatars stare astonished at ecological disasters, such as the one experienced on the island of Stromboli. To shoot a film, the mountain was burned and subsequently a water bomb invaded the island with a gigantic mudslide due to the absence of vegetation.

In addition to the aforementioned exhibitions, Giovanna Da Por has exhibited in Rome, Milan, Naples, Trento, Ferrara, Trieste, Spoleto, Venice, Padua. And abroad in Innsbruck, New York, Philadelphia, Miami, London and Luxembourg.
